History
|
In Harris County in
2002-2003 the
Gulfton and Pasadena communities (zip codes 77081 and 77506) equally share $1 million to fund community
based juvenile crime prevention efforts.
As one of
fifteen sites in Texas,
Gulfton received funds to strengthen the community and reduce conditions that lead to juvenile crime.
The
Gulfton Community took the lead
in designing programs that reduce known risk factors and target at risk youth and their families.
Priority was given to programs that strengthen families and provide
positive activities for youth.
The programs selected help children and their families develop the skills essential to living a safe and drug free lifestyle.
