VOLUNTEERINGWe encourage you to contribute your time and talents to
CPS or other agencies
that assist in preventing abuse. A list of volunteer opportunities with CPS and
partnership agencies follows:
1. Week-end Foster Parent Respite Program:
Volunteer Respite Parents are needed
to provide care for foster children to give foster parents a needed
occasional break.
commitment of four weekends per year is required.
2. PAL Mentoring Program: PAL (Preparation
for Adult Living) helps to prepare young
adults aged 16-18 to leave foster care whether going to college,
military or directly to the
work force. Mentors are also greatly needed for PAL Aftercare ages
18-21. Each volunteer is matched with one youth to serve as a role
model and friend.

Guardianship Angels Volunteer Program:
Volunteers are needed to visit (one-on-one or in group
settings) and participate in meaningful activities with adult wards
living in personal care homes. Volunteers should be available at least
twice a month for three months. Volunteering schedules are very
flexible, including evenings and weekends. For more information call
